Get Ready for the Pumpkin Parade!

Pumpkin Parade: The parade will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, October 31 and will proceed around the blacktop and driveway circle. Please see the attached map for the route and viewing areas. There will be three designated areas for viewing. After the parade, students will report to the blacktop for a surprise performance (yellow area). Any guests viewing the parade from the blacktop are asked to move towards the school to make room for students (pink area).

Costumes and Attire: Students may dress in costumes, orange and black, or any fall inspired attire. Costumes are not required for the parade.

Costume Guidelines: Please avoid scary masks or costumes that may frighten young children. We want this day to be enjoyable for all of our students. Please do not send children to school with any accessories that resemble a weapon.

Costumes worn to school should allow students to participate in the regular school day (including recess, lunch, and using the bathroom). Any accessories or costume masks should be kept in backpacks or bags until it is time for the parade. Please no full face make-up during the school day.

Students may also wear clothing that will fit under their costume and bring the costume to school. We are asking that students be prepared to independently put on their costumes over their clothing. Costumes should be labeled and packed in backpacks or bags.

*Kindergarten parents will receive a separate communication from your child’s teacher regarding costume guidelines for that day

Student Supervision Before School

This is a reminder that the school day begins at 8:50am. Please note that there is no staff supervision outside on campus prior to that time. If your child is arriving early to play on the playground or meet friends, there must be active adult supervision. Any families of students that are not actively supervised will receive a phone call for immediate pick up. If your child needs to arrive to school early, we offer Before the Bell or multiple courses through Rowayton Academy. Please call the office for details. Thank you for your continued support of student safety.
