Walk A Thon is Thursday, October 12
We are so grateful to our community for being flexible with the Walk A Thon. We can't wait to walk with you in the sunshine! The plan and protocols for early pick-up will be the same. Teachers still have the shirts and will hand them out that day. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Pumpkin Parade Costume Donations
The Rowayton Pumpkin Parade is one of our most exciting events! Students bring in their favorite costumes or festove fall outfits from home and do a few laps around the field to fun music while their family comes to cheer them on! To ensure all students can participate, we need your help in collecting extra costumes. Please sign-up to donate new or very gently used costumes or come in the morning of the parade to help be a personal stylist or face painter!! If you would love to help but are short on time, consider a Venmo donation https://venmo.com/u/Kimberleigh-Deklyn. As the event approaches, I will use any donated funds to fill in the missing gaps. Donations can be dropped in the box located in the front entrance.
More information on the parade will come out as the event gets closer.
Please contact Kimmi DeKlyn with any questions 503-507-3524
Safety Tips Brought to You by the Safety Patrol
Did you know that RES has a safety patrol comprised of 5th grade students? The students are i the circle each morning to help the flow of traffic and keep everyone safe. Please follow these guidelines when arriving at school by car each day.
1) Pull all the way up so that we can fit as many cars as possible in the circle and driveway
2) Stay in your car and a safety patrol member will open the door to help your children
3) Line up alongside the doors, not in front for easy access into the building upon arrival

Thank you for your cooperation! Special thanks to Mr. Liberatore and Ms. Curri for making this video!
National Apple Month
There will be variety of local CT apples featured on the school breakfast and lunch menus throughout the entire month of October. This month aims to celebrate and support local agriculture, public education, and community commitment to the importance of healthy, nutritious meals in schools. Each year, legislators, food service directors, farmers, and students gather through farm to school activities and consumption of local products. Below is a link to a fun educational video below featuring Patti Popp of Sport Hill Farm in Easton, in spirit of supporting local farms and teaching students where their food comes from.

October Wellness Celebrates All Thing Pink!
The Color of the Month for October is Pink! Pink can represents kindness, love, shyness, or embarassment. Throughout the month, students will learn about these emotions and participate in activities that support wellness. Students will incorporate pink themes into body, heart, and mind activities. We ask families to join us by considering activities, crafts, or healthy snacks that can be used to promote wellness as we celebrate October! Thanks to the Staff and PTA Wellness Committees for facilitating this initiative!
