Author Visit from Darren Sardelli - Book Orders Due This Week
The Rowayton PTA has arranged for children's book author Darren Sardelli to host an assembly at Rowayton Elemetary in January. Darren Sardelli is an award winning author famous for his humorous and inspirational poetry. Darren has offered to bring hard copies of two of his most popular books when he visits. If you are interested in getting a copy of these books, please complete the order form and return it to the main office by November 17. Order forms were shared through ParentSquare.
Attendance Matters
Good attendance gives your child the best chance to be successful at school. We understand that sometimes children are sick and cannot be at school, but it is important for them to attend each day they are able. Students are considered chronically absent by the State of Connecticut when they have missed 10% of the current days of school. The total includes both excused and unexcused absences. Students with even more absences are considered dangerously absent.
In order to support our community with attendance, we will be sending letters to families of students that are currently considered chronically absent each month. Please contact the office if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to support you in ensuring that your child is at school. You can always contact our school nurse if you have any questions about your child's health. Please note that if your child is absent for reasons other than illness, the absences will likely be recorded as unexcused. Teachers may only provide school work for students who absent due to quarantine or other special circumstances.

Parent Volunteers Needed for the STEAM Assembly on December 1
We have a really cool assembly coming on 12/1 and need volunteers. There will be a mobile STEAM museum set up in the gym and classes will visit throughout the day. Volunteers will help students with the different hands on exhibits. We need six volunteers per session, each lasting 45 minutes. You can sign up when your child will be there or stay for a couple sessions.

Rowayton Library is Writing a Novel ... One Sentence at a Time!
November is National Novel Writing Month, and the Rowayton Library is writing a story with everyone's help! The Rowayton Library wrote the first sentence, and now it is up to library patrons (all ages) to continue the story one sentence at a time. Stop by the circulation desk during your next visit to the Rowayton Library to learn how to add the next sentence!
You can also check out the Library's orange-themed book display that supports our November Wellness Color of the Month!
Check the Lost and Found
As the weather gets cooler, please remind your child to check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria. There are many sweatshirts, coats, hats, and gloves we are hoping to reunite with their owners!
