Sick Day Guidelines

Dear Families,

As part of our school’s health policy, I’d like to share a few reminders to help keep our students

healthy and ready to learn.

When to Keep Your Child Home

Your child should stay home if they have:

• Fever of 100.4°F or higher (until fever-free for 24 hrs without medication)

• Flu symptoms (until fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hrs)

• Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hrs (return on Day 2 after the last episode)

• Undiagnosed rash (doctor’s note required for return)

• Severe cough, congestion, or constant nasal discharge

• Chills or fatigue affecting participation

• Strep throat, pink eye, impetigo, ringworm, or chickenpox – may return after 24 hrs

of treatment or when cleared by a healthcare provider

• Lice: When lice are identified, students must be checked by the nurse before

returning to class to ensure no active lice remain.

Regular head checks at home are the best way to prevent lice from spreading.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy!
