Get Your Passes Early for the Holiday Concert!

The Holiday Concert is one of our biggest family events. Beat the lines by getting your pass early! Visitors can get preprinted ID passes then enter and sign in at the back door on December 18. Doors will open at 9:30am. Anyone without a preprinted pass will have to show ID and sign in at the office. You can get a preprinted pass December 15 through December 17.

  • If you have visited Rowayton before, we have your identification information saved in our Raptor system. Starting December 15, previous visitors can call or email the office with the names of the people attending. We will preprint your pass and send it home with your student. The day of the event, please wear your pass then enter and sign in at the back door. Call the Main Office or email Tatiana (cadavidt@norwalkps.org) or Vernita (grastyv@norwalkps.org) to get your passes sent home.
  • If you have not visited Rowayton before, you will have to get your pass at the office. You can visit the office between 8:30am and 3:30pm on December 15, 16, or 17 to pick up a pass with ID. Please wear your pass then enter and sign in at the back door on December 18.
  • If you do not get a preprinted pass, you will have to report to the main office with your ID on the day of the performance.

No visitors will be allowed entry without ID. Seating is first come, first served. The front row of seats are reserved. There will be additional standing room in back of the seats.

Dress for the Cold Weather!

It is important that all students wear or bring a coat to school for recess or outdoor activities. A coat is an additional covering that students can wear when outside, not a fleece or sweatshirt. We will try to be outside for recess as long as the weather allows, so students must be dressed appropriately to participate outside. Hats, gloves, and ear muffs are also encouraged. Consider putting your child's name or initials inside any items so that they can be easily identified if they end up in the Lost and Found. The Lost and Found will continue to be displayed on the wall in the cafeteria.

Sick Day Guidelines

Dear Families,

As part of our school’s health policy, I’d like to share a few reminders to help keep our students

healthy and ready to learn.

When to Keep Your Child Home

Your child should stay home if they have:

• Fever of 100.4°F or higher (until fever-free for 24 hrs without medication)

• Flu symptoms (until fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hrs)

• Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hrs (return on Day 2 after the last episode)

• Undiagnosed rash (doctor’s note required for return)

• Severe cough, congestion, or constant nasal discharge

• Chills or fatigue affecting participation

• Strep throat, pink eye, impetigo, ringworm, or chickenpox – may return after 24 hrs

of treatment or when cleared by a healthcare provider

• Lice: When lice are identified, students must be checked by the nurse before

returning to class to ensure no active lice remain.

Regular head checks at home are the best way to prevent lice from spreading.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy!

Student Supervision Before and After School

This is a reminder that the school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 3:55pm. Please note that there is no staff supervision outside on or near campus before and after those times. Once your child is dismissed from school, they are no longer in the custody of school staff. If your child is playing on the playground, riding bikes, or meeting friends, there must be active adult supervision. Any families of students that are not actively supervised may receive a phone call for immediate pick up. If your child needs to arrive to school early or stay late, we offer Before and After the Bell or multiple courses through Rowayton Academy. Please call the office for details. Thank you for your continued support of student safety.
