Smarter Balanced Assessments Begin for Grades 3-5
The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) assesses student learning and progress in English Language Arts and mathematics aligned with state standards. Grade 5 students will take an additional science assessment. These computer-based assessments help measure understanding of skills and provide data for teachers to inform instruction.
The window for administering these tests is coming up. Your child’s teacher can provide you with a more a more detailed outline of the testing schedule.
If your child must be absent during this window, a make up date will be arranged. Teachers have prepared for positive and calm testing environments. Please join us in ensuring that our students are both mentally and physically prepared. We encourage rest the night before, and breakfast will be available at school if needed. Thank you for your continued support!

Students May Not Be Dropped Off Prior to the Start of the School Day
Students may not be dropped off on campus unsupervised before 8:50am. Our school start time is 8:50am each day. Staff is not present to supervise students dropped off outside before this start time. Students should be supervised by an adult when on school property while school is not open. There are cars and buses entering our driveway, circle, parking lots, and blacktop. These areas can be unsafe for unsupervised students.
Dismissal begins at 3:35pm. Students that remain on the campus after dismissal should also be supervised by an adult and only use designated play areas such as the playgrounds. The blacktop and circle are used by cars and buses that pick up students until 6:00pm each day.
We appreciate your support in ensuring safety on our school campus before and after school.
